Tired of Glasses and Contacts? Explore Vision Correction!

How Would You Describe Your Eyesight?

  • Clear up-close vision, blurry distance vision
  • Clear distance vision, blurry up-close vision
  • Blurry reading vision
  • Blurry vision at all distances

We May Have a Solution!

  • LASIK (Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis)
  • PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)
  • RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange)
  • ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)

We realize that is a lot of acronyms to take in! While most people have heard of LASIK vision correction and know it’s a procedure to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses, there are other procedures (such as PRK, RLE and ICL) that can produce similar vision results. A skilled ophthalmologist will be able to assess your unique eye health and make a recommendation for the best and safest procedure for your situation.

That’s exactly what you get at The Wright Eye Center: the “wright” treatment to help you achieve the clearest vision possible.

“Very professional staff and doctors … I would recommend The Wright Eye Center to my friends.”

Laser Vision Correction Options: LASIK & PRK

At The Wright Eye Center, we’ve performed over 39,000 laser vision correction procedures over the past 20 years. Laser vision correction corrects mild to moderate nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism. All laser vision correction surgeries work by reshaping the cornea (clear front part of the eye) so that light traveling through the cornea is properly focused onto the retina (the back of the eye). The technologies we use for LASIK and PRK are bladeless and customized for every unique eye. That’s how we can help our patients achieve the best results, giving them freedom to enjoy active lifestyles without the need for glasses and contact lenses. Our patient satisfaction is extremely high. In fact, most of our LASIK and PRK patients wish they had done it sooner!

Refractive Lens Exchange

RLE may be a vision correction option for you if you are extremely farsighted – especially if you are over age 40 and your reading vision has deteriorated even more than normal. Rather than changing the shape of your cornea as in LASIK or PRK, the RLE process involves the removal of your natural eye lens so it can be replaced with a new intraocular lens (IOL) that will allow you to see better with less dependency on glasses. While this may sound a bit radical, the process is actually very similar to cataract surgery, a very common and safe procedure. Our team will inquire about your lifestyle and hobbies so we can make recommendations on the type of IOLs that could help you better eyesight to improve your quality of life.

Implantable Collamer Lens

Some people are not good candidates for LASIK or PRK because they are moderately or severely nearsighted, have large pupils, have thin corneas or other eye conditions like dry eye. ICLs are kind of like a contact lens that is semi-permanently inserted into your eye – you don’t have to remove it every night and you won’t be able to feel it or see it in your eye. At The Wright Eye Center, we offer the Visian® ICL™ which can actually be used to correct nearsightedness and/or astigmatism.
