Dr. Garrett Rota, D.O., M.S.
A Colorado Springs native, Dr. Rota earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Colorado State University before attending Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Denver. He served as chief resident at Kettering Health in Dayton, Ohio, and sought out further academic training at Wills Eye Institute and Stanford University.
He treats cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye, and performs LASIK, with a practice style built around getting to know each patient before recommending a plan. Outside the clinic, he’s usually camping, hiking, or skiing with his wife, three kids, and their dog, and has taken part in several international medical mission trips.
Dr. Matthew Chang M.D.
Dr. Chang grew up outside Chicago and trained at Johns Hopkins before completing one of the country’s first combined M.D./M.B.A. programs focused on health economics, at the University of Illinois. He was elected chief resident during his ophthalmology residency at Michigan’s Kresge Eye Institute, then went on to the University of Arizona for fellowship training in cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease.
He remains one of the highest-volume surgeons in the state, performing stitchless cataract surgery with advanced accommodative and multifocal lens implants, corneal transplants, laser refractive surgery, and glaucoma laser procedures.

Dr. Steven P. Clancy. O.D.
Dr. Clancy spent 14 years in primary care optometry within military hospital settings, where he managed refractive surgery patients alongside surgeons and treated a broad range of ocular disease. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and today focuses on contact lens services and comprehensive treatment of eye disease.
Dr. Brant Gehler O,D.
Dr. Gehler has been with The Wright Eye Center since 1989. He received a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Minnesota in 1981. In 1989 he received his Doctor of Optometry. He has extensive knowledge of pre and post-operative management of refractive surgery patients and has worked closely with Dr. Wright for many years.
He was one of the first optometrists in the United States to have first-hand experience in treating laser patients and was one of the first to attend a certifying course for the excimer laser sponsored by Summit Technology.
Dr. Gehler is also a VIP (visually improved patient) of The Wright Eye Center, having had LASIK in October of 2001!
Dr. Wesley Pedroso. O.D.
Dr. Pedroso is a dedicated Optometrist (OD) returning to the Wright Eye Center in Colorado Springs, a community he has called home for the past 25 years. Originally born in Manila, Philippines, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Before pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Pedroso gained extensive healthcare experience as an emergency department medical scribe, scribe program director, and as an ophthalmic technician at the Wright Eye Center starting in 2019. Committed to patient care, he also volunteered with the No One Dies Alone program and the Penrose Main Hospital outpatient pharmacy.
Dr. Pedroso earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry in 2026. His comprehensive clinical training spans the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Clinic, Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, the Midwestern Eye Institute, and Petelin Vision. He specializes in managing ocular disease, pre- and post-operative care, and primary care optometry. Outside of his practice, he enjoys training at the gym, reading, watching boxing, and painting miniatures.
