A Lens-Based Option for Vision Correction
EVO ICL is an implantable collamer lens that is placed inside the eye to help correct vision. Unlike LASIK or PRK, EVO ICL does not reshape the cornea or remove corneal tissue.
For some patients, EVO ICL may be recommended because they are not ideal LASIK or PRK candidates. For others, it may be considered even if they do qualify for laser vision correction, especially if their prescription, corneal measurements, dry eye status, or long-term goals make a lens-based option more attractive.

EVO ICL may be an option for patients who:
- Have moderate to high nearsightedness
- Want to reduce dependence on glasses or contacts
- Have thinner corneas
- Have dry eye concerns
- Prefer a procedure that does not remove corneal tissue
- Have healthy eyes and appropriate internal eye measurements
- Want a removable vision correction option
One of the advantages of EVO ICL is that it preserves the cornea. The lens is placed inside the eye, behind the iris and in front of the natural lens, where it works with the eye’s natural focusing system.
