Our story
The Wright Eye Center has served the Colorado Springs community for decades. Founded by Dr. John Wright, the practice was built on a commitment to excellent surgical care, honest recommendations, and long-term relationships with patients and referring doctors throughout Southern Colorado.
For many years, Dr. Wright was a trusted ophthalmic surgeon in the community, caring for generations of patients and building a practice known for experience, compassion, and personalized care.
In 2022, Dr. Wright entrusted the next chapter of Wright Eye Center to Dr. Matthew Chang, an experienced ophthalmologist who shared the same patient-first philosophy. As the practice continued to evolve, Dr. Wright and Dr. Chang carefully selected Dr. Garrett Rota to help lead Wright Eye Center into the future. Today, Dr. Garrett Rota serves as the primary ophthalmologist at Wright Eye Center, providing medical and surgical eye care alongside our skilled optometrists and clinical team. Together, our doctors continue the practice’s long-standing mission while bringing modern technology, advanced surgical planning, and a fresh approach to patient education.
