What Vision Correction Procedure is Right For Me?

There is no single best procedure for everyone. The right choice depends on your eyes, your age, your prescription, and your goals.

OptionOften a Good Fit ForWhat It Means
LASIKPatients with healthy corneas, adequate corneal thickness, and a stable prescriptionLaser vision correction with a quick recovery for many patients
PRKPatients with thinner corneas or those who may benefit from a flap-free approachLaser vision correction performed without creating a corneal flap
EVO ICLPatients with higher nearsightedness, thinner corneas, or dry eye concernsAn implantable lens that corrects vision without removing corneal tissue
Refractive Lens ExchangePatients with reading vision changes, early lens changes, or other lens-based vision needsReplaces the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens implant

At the Wright Eye Center, we help patients understand not only what they qualify for, but what makes the most sense long term.

For example, a 25-year-old with a high prescription and thin corneas may be better suited for EVO ICL than LASIK. A 55-year-old frustrated with progressives may be better suited for refractive lens exchange than corneal laser vision correction. A patient with healthy corneas and a stable prescription may still be an excellent LASIK or PRK candidate.

The best first step is a personalized evaluation.
