What Vision Correction Procedure is Right For Me?
There is no single best procedure for everyone. The right choice depends on your eyes, your age, your prescription, and your goals.
| Option | Often a Good Fit For | What It Means |
| LASIK | Patients with healthy corneas, adequate corneal thickness, and a stable prescription | Laser vision correction with a quick recovery for many patients |
| PRK | Patients with thinner corneas or those who may benefit from a flap-free approach | Laser vision correction performed without creating a corneal flap |
| EVO ICL | Patients with higher nearsightedness, thinner corneas, or dry eye concerns | An implantable lens that corrects vision without removing corneal tissue |
| Refractive Lens Exchange | Patients with reading vision changes, early lens changes, or other lens-based vision needs | Replaces the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens implant |
At the Wright Eye Center, we help patients understand not only what they qualify for, but what makes the most sense long term.
For example, a 25-year-old with a high prescription and thin corneas may be better suited for EVO ICL than LASIK. A 55-year-old frustrated with progressives may be better suited for refractive lens exchange than corneal laser vision correction. A patient with healthy corneas and a stable prescription may still be an excellent LASIK or PRK candidate.
The best first step is a personalized evaluation.
