Common Tests During Cataract Evaluations 

• Overview of your vision using a visual acuity test 
• Dilated eye exam to assess the condition of your eye lenses and your retinal health (back of your eye) 
• Review of any refractive error you might have (nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism) 
• Eye pressure test to identify glaucoma 

Your eyes will be dilated during this visit, so we recommend bringing someone along with you to drive you home.  

After the preliminary tests are completed, our doctors will discuss the results and explain any problem areas that might exist.
